Watch Mumford & Sons Cover Shura’s “2Shy”

Recently, the gorgeous wallflower anthem “2Shy” entered my life and I could not stop gushing about it. Turns out, neither could Mumford & Sons! The former folk-pop group covered Shura’s synthy R&B track for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, unearthing its angular grooves and whipping up a frenzy of percussion, as they are wont to do. Marcus Mumford’s vocal performance is one of the best parts of this; his plaintive tone suits the timorous lyrics perfectly. Hey, he’s already made the jump into hip-hop, there’s no way he was going to rest without tackling bedroom R&B too. In all honesty, though, he’s really good at it! Plus, I can’t wait to see the bump that the Artist To Watch alum get from such a huge cosign. Watch it below.

Mumford & Son’s new album Wilder Mind is out 5/4 on Glassnote Records.
