Amazon is putting together an Amazon Acoustic covers compilation that will exclusively be available via their Music service in an effort to remind people that those things do in fact exist. The first track from that release to surface is Surfer Blood’s take on Outkast’s “Hey Ya,” where they turn what is inarguably one of the best songs ever created into a jangle-pop snore. According to Pitchfork, other tracks we can look forward to are Peter Matthew Bauer covering St. Vincent’s “Prince Johnny,” Hamilton Leithauser doing Beach House’s “Astronaut,” the Districts covering David Bowie’s “Ashes To Ashes,” and Jessie Baylin with the Popeye movie-musical track “He Needs Me.” Listen to Surfer Blood’s cover below.

No word on when Amazon Acoustics will be out just yet.
