Now That Drake’s “More Life” Playlist Is Finally Out, What Did We Guess Wrong?

On the night of March 18, Drake unveiled More Life to the world .

Neither an album nor a mixtape, the project is officially a playlist (and even a “Playlist By October Firm.”) Nevertheless as with If You Are Reading This It’s Too Late in 2015, the actual difference with an album remains very tenuous. More Life takes its name from an expression popularized by the Jamaican Vybz Kartel. Musically some dancehall influences are to be noted on the playlist.

Preceded by the trio “Fake Love” (officially released as a single on October 29th), “Sneakin” and “Two Birds, One Stone,” the long project of 22 tracks makes the most of features with  Young Thug, Giggs, Quavo, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz, Kanye West, Black Coffee and PartyNextDoor, also Lil Wayne who is not credited.
Jennifer Lopez and The Weeknd are absent from the project contrary to what many fans hoped. Their was a lot of specualtion that these two would be featured on the album. Drake was rumored to be dating J-Lo for a while and he just recently patched things up with The Weeknd so you could see why the internet was buzzing around these 2 rumored tracks that never materialized.

To celebrate the release, Drake added some new tattoos to his collection, a Malabar candy pink piece that only he has the secret and another one that pays tribute to his old Twitter handle, a bottle of Drakkar Noir cologne.
