A record that used to belong to the legendary Aretha Flanklin.
On Monday, Nicki Minaj became the female artist with the most hits on Billboard Hot 100. With her new trio of singles “Regret in Your Tears,” “Changed It” featuring with Lil Wayne and “No Frauds” alongside Drake and Lil Wayne, she can now claim to have ranked 76 tracks in this top category during her career. It exceeds Aretha Franklin, previous record holder. Next came Taylor Swift (70), Rihanna (58), Madonna (57), Dionne Warwick (56), or the diva Beyoncé (54).
Exceptionally, where the soul singer took more than 40 years to reach her total of 73 titles, Nicki took only seven short years. Her first appearance in the charts dates from February 20, 2010 with “Knockout” with the help of Lil Wayne. She then settled alone on the microphone for the first time the following August with “Your Love.” Franklin nevertheless leads the solo performance, with Minaj counting 44 shared tracks to 32 where she is the only performer. To celebrate this news as she should, she filmed a little twerk video that she shared on Instagram. Enjoy!
