Wildhoney – “Laura” (First Listen)

Wildhoney are a Baltimore five-piece who merge circuitous shoegaze with spacey dream-pop. They released their debut full-length this year, Sleep Through It, but are planning to drop a new 12-inch EP as well called Your Face Sideways. Today we’re premiering the first song off that EP, “Laura,” a song that deals in the same snarled nostalgia as summer slipping away into fall. It’s sweetly depressing, and Lauren Shusterich’s spacey harmonies play out against the backdrop of Zach Inscho’s doomy percussion, Joe Trainor and Marybeth Mareski shredding and spiraling on electric guitar, and Alan Everhart’s stabilizing bass. Listen below.
