Killer Mike had a busy weekend. On Saturday, he attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner for the first time ever, and the night before he was up at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to give a talk on race relations as part of the school’s Hip Hop Speaker Series. Over the two-and-a-half hour talk, the rapper touched on the major label system (which he likened to “sharecropping”), the need for young musicians to be independent, the best way to integrate hip-hop into the class curriculum, and a whole bunch more.
