Marissa Nadler – “Solitude” (Black Sabbath Cover)

Marissa Nadler has been making ethereal goth-pop since way before wearing all-black came back into fashion, way before “being sad” morphed into a meme. In 2014 she put out a dark and spectral record called July via Sacred Bones/Bella Union, and if you missed that album, you should definitely listen to it. But today she’s shared something new; a crawling, gorgeous cover of Black Sabath’s “Solitude.” It showcases her astonishing talent for blending harmonies and creeps along an ominous undercurrent of menace. Listen.
