Flying Lotus – “Transmolecularization” (Feat. Kamasi Washington)

Flying Lotus blew minds with last year’s album You’re Dead!, but his unreleased records, including his various unheard Kendrick Lamar collabs, are just as legendary as the music he actually puts out. Last night, as Hypetrak points out, FlyLo continued his DJ residency on BBC Radio 1, and he opened things up by playing “Transmolecularization,” an unreleased track from his You’re Dead! sessions. It’s a collaboration with Kamasi Washington, the jazz saxophonist whose monster triple album The Epic just came out on FlyLo’s Brainfeeder label. It’s a spacey, volcanic jazz track, and you can hear it here; it starts around the five-minute mark.
