FFS – “Call Girl”

FFS is the supergroup team-up of Franz Ferdinand — all four members — and the influential ’70s studio-pop weirdos Sparks. Their self-titled debut as a unit is out in a couple of weeks. Together, these guys have all found the same playful, cheeky power-pop wavelength. We’ve heard their songs “Piss Off,” “Johnny Delusional,” and “Collaborations Don’t Work,” and now we get to hear a fourth. “Call Girl” isn’t about prostitutes; it’s about a girl not calling. It has some zippy harmonies and a truly strange synth figure, and it’s a lot of fun. Listen below.

FFS is out 6/8 on Domino.
