AUTOBAHN – “Society”

With two EPs under their belt, aptly titled Autobahn 1 and Autobahn 2, Leeds’ AUTOBAHN are ready to enter into the full-length album world with the release of Dissemble in August. “Society” exists in the middle of the record, a steady, pulsing take on post-punk. Vocalist Craig Johnson’s low howls, especially within the first mellow minute of “Society,” ring similar to those of fellow UK lad King Krule. Johnson notes that lyrically, the song is a critique of a fragmented and harsh society:

This song encapsulates a longing for a complete society, a society where people won’t be judged, where people can have faith in humanity. We don’t live in that place now, especially with this government, but we can change this.
